Den-Mat, the company behind Lumineers, has officially acknowledged Dr. Hetal Amin-Patel at Beautiful Dentistry as a Lumineers Certified Dentist. By staying at the cusp of advances in cosmetic dentistry, we are uniquely qualified to provide consultations on Smile Makeovers.
What are Lumineers?
Lumineers are the painless way to bring out the beautiful, healthy, natural, permanently white smile in you. Lumineers are ultra strong glass-ceramic porcelain laminates that are contact lens thin, and extremely stain resistant. They are used for closing space between teeth, reshaping teeth, and whitening teeth. Lumineers eliminate the need for shaving and grinding down of sensitive tooth structure, like traditional veneer treatments require. Lumineers are touted to be the most successful breakthrough in Cosmetic Dentistry. Soda, coffee, cigars, and cigarettes will not stain Lumineers.

Lifestyle & Cosmetic Benefits

Lumineers create instant Hollywood Smiles that last. Lumineers resiliently retain their brightness forever, even if you are a smoker that drinks lots of coffee.
Instant Results Without Any Effort, Pain, or Time Commitments
Frees up your busy schedule, getting the same results with a combination of alternative treatments could take many dental appointments over the course of several years.
Costs
The average cost of Lumineers tends to hover around $1,000 per tooth. The pricetag may seem staggering but the results are immediate, pain free, and have a proven track record of lasting 20+ years with proper dental hygeine. The cost reflects the prep work, the actual installation of the thin porcelain, as well as overhead associated with this highly specialized dental procedure. Cost changing factors can include the condition of the teeth, previous work that has been done on the teeth, and other complicating factors.
Insurance
Insurance companies will very selectively provide coverage for Lumineers treatment. For example, if you sustained an injury from an accident, you may qualify for coverage. In addition, Lumineers may be used in place of other restorations, such as crowns. Talk to your dental insurance provider for details.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
You cannot offset the expense of Lumineers with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Elective cosmetic procedures are not deductible as a medical expense on your tax return. Given that Lumineers are elective cosmetic devices, that would not be an allowable medical expense and therefore would not be eligible for payment through a medical reimbursement plan.
0% Interest Rate & No Fees Financing
Beautiful Dentistry Porcelain Veneers, like other cosmetic dentistry procedures, can be financed through Beautiful Dentistry’s in-house program with CareCredit or SpringLeaf. If your dental bill is $500 or less, you can get 6 months same as cash at 0% interest and no fees. If your dental bill is up to $2000, you qualify for 12 months same as cash at 0% interest and no fees. Any procedures over $2000 qualify for 18 to 24 months of no interest and no fees financing based on the amount.
Health Benefits
Facilitating Good Oral Health & Cardiovascular Health
Preventing Periodontal Disease
Lumineers can be made in varying thicknesses to close gaps, adjust malformations in the teeth, and improving the bite. Lumineers become ultra strong ceramic-glass porcelain protective covers for your teeth, and prevent chipping and abrasion. Gaps, malformations, and improper bite alignment issues can deterioriate and damage your tooth structure, if left untreated. The high gloss glazed finish of Lumineers make them resistant to plaque buildup, which helps prevent gum disease.
Preventing Heart Disease
Periodontal disease which causes the inflammation of gums introduces a pathway for bacteria in the mouth to enter the bloodstream. Recent studies have found there may be an association between heart disease and gum disease which is as strong as the linkage of heart disease to cholesterol, body weight, and smoking.
A Lumineers treatment does not preclude you from having to practice proper dental hygeine, but it does facilitate good health in addition to instantly producing knockout smiles!
Keep Your Natural Teeth Intact
Lumineers allow you to keep your natural teeth intact. This is an important point because alternative treatments that offer similar results, such as crowns, bridges and implants, do not. Keeping more of your natural tooth prevents jaw bone deformities and chewing difficulties from developing as you age. You also decrease your risk of getting bacteria and decay in your gums, which in turn reduces your risk of getting heart attacks. The best part: your unattractive tooth will be entirely invisible.
Because Lumineers are the least invasive way to improve your dental health and the appearance of your smile, the cost is justified when you’re looking for an easy way to get immediate results without pain. Whether you want to protect your teeth for health reasons, cover up unsightly teeth for cosmetic reasons, or both, choosing Lumineers makes sense.
Eligibility Criteria
When Lumineers Won’t Work
Lumineers provide the best results when there are healthy gums holding the teeth in place. Call us today at (704) 633‑2612 to schedule a deep cleaning, and get on the fast track to a healthy gumline. If the gums are puffy or bleed easily, they may recede away from the margin of the veneers as they heal, making the result less than optimum. Bleeding gums will interfere with the Lumineers bonding process and often causes a line of discoloration under the porcelain at the gum line. If your gums aren’t in the greatest condition, we should bring them to the best possible health before proceeding with the Lumineers treatment.
Other existing dental conditions could leave your Lumineers much more prone to wear and tear. Tooth grinding is one of such disorder that may translate to a greater need for maintenance. If you have any special concerns about your teeth before proceeding with a Lumineers appointment, please call us at (704) 633‑2612 and speak to your Lumineers Dentist.
Other Treatment Options
Lumineers address a number of dental problems. Alternatives for each of these issues exist, but all of these alternative treatments take considerably more time to deliver results. Alternative solutions which involve restoring your original teeth typically will not be as effective as Lumineers, in producing Hollywood Smiles.
Complex dental cases would require treatment in phases, and rely on multiple products. For example, metal braces can be used for extruding canines and correcting extreme crossbites, Invisalign can be used after the metal braces finalize the heavy lifting, and Lumineers can add the finishing touches to your smile at the very end. Please call us today at (704) 633‑2612 to speak to your Lumineers Dentist and schedule your Smile Makeover consultation, and let us identify the best path to creating your perfect smile.
Lumineers Treatment
Getting Lumineers typically requires two dental appointments.
About the Procedure
First Dental Appointment
Meet with your Lumineers Certified Dentist, and get comfortable with your choice of a movie or sedation. Our Office is Board Certified to offer you different degrees of sedation, ranging from Nitrous Oxide to Pill Sedation, to make your dental visit more comfortable and desirable. Your teeth get polished to ensure your Lumineers will bond properly. This process is pain free and does not require anesthetic.
Your Lumineers Dentist will take a few impressions of your mouth. These impressions get sent out by mail to Den-Mat to manufacture Lumineers customized for your mouth.
If necessary, you will also be provided with temporary teeth until your Lumineers arrive.
Second Dental Appointment
You again have the option of getting comfortable with either a movie or sedation. On this day your temporaries are removed, if you had been given any, and your Lumineers are glued onto your teeth. The porcelain to enamel bond is the strongest bond in dentistry, despite this, you still have the option of easily removing your Lumineers for any reason, at any time.
Recovery Period
Your teeth are prepared in a non-invasive manner by your Lumineers Dentist, in a manner which does not cause any pain to your teeth. There is no recovery period window, because there is nothing you have to recover from.
Warranties & Guarantees
Maintenance Requirements
Every 6 months you are required to come in for a checkup and cleaning. Skipping this biannual checkup and cleaning within the first 5 years of having your Lumineers installed will void the manufacturer and Beautiful Dentistry warranty and guarantee. It is recommended to maintain biannual visits to Dr. Hetal Amin-Patel at Beautiful Dentistry beyond the 5 year warranty period to ensure the longevity of the Lumineers.
Manufacturer Warranty
Lumineers come with a 5 year limited warranty from Den-Mat. There are restrictions you will have to abide by to qualify for warranty coverage, including regular dental checkups and cleanings. We will give you the required documentation to complete to be eligible for the warranty. It is imperative you have your Lumineers procedure completed at Beautiful Dentistry with an officially Authorized & Certified Lumineers Dentist: Dr. Hetal Amin-Patel. If you have the procedure done at a dentist not certified to perform this treatment, you run the risk of voiding your warranty if he/she does not conduct the installation using Den-Mat recommended products and methods.
Beautiful Dentistry’s Warranty
Beautiful Dentistry’s Lumineers Dentist, Dr. Hetal Amin-Patel, is an officially authorized provider of Den-Mat products, and is Lumineers Certified. Our Lumineers dental work is under warranty for 5 years provided you adhere to the post-treatment care plan, which requires biannual dental checkups and cleanings. If there is a manufacturer defect within the first 5 years with your Lumineers, the office visit and repair will be at no cost to you, provided the issue is not related to tooth decay or poor home care.
